The Trump/Kim love affair is a shit story that doesn't bode well for America.

In case you didn't notice, amidst all of the other crazy shit Trump has been pulling, he claims he has another love letter from one of his favorite murdering despots, North Korea's Kim Jong-un.

Trump told reporters that he got a, “...very beautiful and warm and it was very personal, very warm, and a very nice letter" and that everything is going smoothly with the bloodthirsty little bastard who has captured his heart.

While still unconfirmed, it appears that last meeting between the two jerks ended worse than expected, because Kim had his negotiating crew executed.

I really have a hard time watching an American president lick a foreign dictator's ass in order to claim some foreign policy victory that he hopes will help him get re-elected.

Just between you and me...

Kim, who recently was caught flagrantly flirting with Russia's sweetheart Putin, is playing Trump like a piccolo. By the time Trump figures that out (if ever) he's going to be "sweetmeat" for at least six more dictators.

Stewart Spanks Congress: Stands Up For 911 Responders

We live in an era of shame brought about by politicians with no ethics or morals.

It's no longer about doing the right thing. Everything is a binary choice. Win, or lose. 

When my friend Larry sent me a link to Jon Stewart addressing Congress yesterday, I almost shed tears. 

"Accountability doesn't appear to be something that occurs in this chamber," Stewart said, "and, I'm sorry if I sound angry and undiplomatic, but I am angry and you should be too."

I know I was angry hearing about the difficulties the 911 Victim Compensation Fund has gone through with Congress's lackadaisical responses, coming up short of what's needed, and dragging their feet on releasing funds.

To me, this is another metaphor for when old men send young men to war. When they come home no one cares about their needs. 

Those 911 responders put everything on the line without hesitation. But their deeds are already receding into history along with their needs. 

When most of the members of Congress didn't show up to hear from those first responders in the hearing, it was a show of disrespect.

Stewart made sure they knew it too. His passionate speech -
calling out the "callous indifference and rank hypocrisy" of Congress members who once tweeted, "Never Forget 9/11" are robbing the responders of their 'most valuable commodity': Time, the one thing they're running out of."

The hearing was on a bill that would ensure funding for health benefits for responders for the next 70 years.

It was the first time I ever saw a speaker in the chamber receive a standing ovation. Those members of the House that did show up looked on from their seats sheepishly, fully aware they weren't doing their job.

Also, Lobbyist Diving, and one event that is sure to pull an audience, Shark vs Shark, where the politician has to swim to one side of the pool before the Great White waiting in the water gets him!

I'm Looking Forward To The New Presidential Twitter Library

Have you ever watched the Daily Show with Trevor Noah?

He's one of three late night comedians that I really enjoy watching and listening to.

Okay. What's up with the Trevor Noah thing? Right? Be patient, I'm leading up to that...

In a recent show Trevor sent a special message to Trump. In it he explained that the Daily Show's Traveling Presidential Twitter Library will set up shop in Washington on June 14th, just around the corner from the White House.

"The president can gain new inspiration as visitors bask in his collective wisdom, take a selfie with covfefe, or sit on his golden toilet," Noah explained.

Needlessly to say, I was inspired by Noah's vision of a Presidential Twitter Library, and have a few thoughts about the idea:

On Fundraising: It's a no-brainer that Trump's hard core base will send donations, even if they're beaten down with new higher tariff costs that the moron has imposed.

In addition,the upper 1% of Americans who hold the majority of the nation's wealth, will probably reward Trump for the tax scam that he pulled off last year.

On Preserving the Evidence: Historians, lawmakers, and political science professors, will be able to document scores of lies that Trump told during his regime that led to a war with Congress.

In addition, psychiatrists will be making numerous observations, where they write scholarly papers of the many mental conditions Trump has. The library will be like a walk through a sociopath's mind. 

A Warning To Future Generations: Above all, Donny's tweets will be a warning for future presidents who think about co-opting media platforms to present an alternative reality to their followers. 

Not only is it divisive to Americans, there's security concerns after Trump whips up his fringe base against individuals he's personally targeting.

This mobile Presidential Twitter Library can tour the nation, stopping off at colleges, and high schools across the country.

Will Trump Turn 4th of July Into a Political Rally?

Another day, and another assault against American traditions. Today, we're going to look at Trump's latest attempt to foul a national holiday.

A Trumpian 4th of July

House Democratic leaders are protesting Trump's decision to place himself at the center of the national Fourth of July celebration on the Mall, saying his planned speech at the Lincoln Memorial would waste taxpayer dollars and impart a partisan flavor to what has traditionally been an apolitical event. 

It's no secret that every time Trump goes to the podium for any news event, the conversation quickly deteriorates into a campaign rally. Almost without exception.

First and foremost in Trump's pea brain is getting re-elected in 2020. He began that campaign the day after being sworn into office in 2017.

The concern of Trump turning a national event into a sideshow, is widespread. His track record proves that, setting up what's sure to be a national embarrassment.

Don't be surprised if there's protesters at this Fourth of July rally if Trump get's to go through with his plan to co-opt the event.

That's not a sight I wish to see. Americans divided on the biggest patriotic holiday we have.


Let's hope that enough roadblocks are set up by the House to stop this shameful attempt to take over Fourth of July by our wannabe dictator.

'Nobody Looked at Vietnam' According to Cadet Bonespurs

I have to admit it...nothing pisses me off more than cavalierly writing off the 58,000 men and women who fought and died in Vietnam.

As a combat Vietnam veteran, I was disgusted and appalled with Trump's comments during an interview with Piers Morgan (his old pal) the other day.

Trump, "Nobody heard of Vietnam with so many people dying, people asked what is happening over there? So I was never a fan - like we're fighting Nazi Germany, we're fighting against Hitler."

Trump went on to say he'd like to serve in another conflict, claiming he'd be "honored." He also suggested because he's so generous to the military he feels like that compensates for avoiding the draft.

Memo To Cadet Bonespurs

Bullshit! You orange ape and coward!

Once again you crossed the line between decency and honesty. You're not worth spitting on Stump. I'm not going to let you write off my history, or that of the rest of the men and woman who honorably served during those turbulent years.

As far as being exonerated for your cowardice by procuring funds for the military (something every president before you did)... forget about it!

To suggest that nobody looked at the Vietnam conflict, which played out on national TV, simply displays how stupid and uninformed you are Stump.

You have no right to even talk about Vietnam after five deferments - including one that was a fake bone spur diagnosis from a family friend who was a doctor. 

I'm watching you, and waiting until you get your just deserts for trying to destroy our democracy with the help of foreign powers and your dictator buddies around the globe.

Trump's Bullshit Didn't Fly - But the Trump Baby Blimp Did!

Trump is trying to sell his alternate reality trick again. 

Despite recorded evidence to the contrary, he claims the English people love him...

Do you think this Baby Trump Blimp is a sign of love and respect?

Hardly. It's to mock the orange ape.

In a press conference yesterday Trump told gathered reporters that all he saw were British people flying American and British flags demonstrating their great love for him.

"I didn't see the protesters until a little while ago, and it was very, very small group of people put in for political reasons, so it was just fake news," Trump told the press.

Meanwhile (in the real world), as Trump was speaking, the British people made their feelings about him crystal clear, as tens of thousands gathered in London's Trafalgar Square.

Trump's avoidance of reality is becoming more of a challenge every day, as it closes in on him and his corrupt regime.

For a moment I wondered what Trump's base thought about this obvious contradiction, and then I remembered; they wouldn't have seen videos or pictures of the protests on Fox News, and were spoon fed his comments. 

Like mushrooms, Trump's followers are kept in the dark about what's really happening in the world. As far as the rest of us, his bullshit doesn't fly, but his Trump Baby Blimp sure does!

2020 Presidential Election: Will Economy Save Trump?

As much as the majority of Americans loath Trump, many could conceivably give him a pass and re-elect him if the economy is thriving.

Or, at least that's the conventional view.

I know! It's blasphemy to suggest the orange ape might squat in the White House for another four years. However, you can't count out a healthy economy either. It's a powerful point to run on.

For most candidates. That may not be true for Trump.

His war with Congress is going to take a lot of oxygen out of his re-election campaign, despite what his minions believe. Trump's challenge to impeach him is part of their twisted strategy to get more than his fervent base to rally around him when it comes time to vote.

I would suggest to those mini-stable genius' laboring around that battle plan that they're not looking at the overall picture logically.

Let's start with Nixon. Americans had little desire to impeach him (37% for impeachment), until the impeachment inquiry opened up a can of whoop ass! 

Let's compare:

The latest poll on Trump shows 43% of Americans are ready to impeach him. That's an increase from April, when the number was 37%.

Political analysts are saying that 67% of the country wants to hear Special Counsel Robert Mueller testify before Congress. That results from that interview could be even more disastrous than his report.

Looking at what happened to Nixon is a road map to what we can expect. The more evidence that came out against him during the inquiry, the more the American people lost faith in him and his numbers in the polls tanked. He finally had to step down in disgrace.

Not that I expect Trump to take losing gracefully, or to slip quietly away into history. I suspect he'll have to be frog-marched out of the White House by FBI agents (wouldn't you love being one of those lucky guys?).

Back to the economy. It's been looking good thus far, but ominous signs are surfacing.

Experts Warn of 'High Chance' of a recession by 2020

Which leads me back to how popular Trump will be next year if we're in a recession. Yes, I know, no matter what his cult-followers won't be swayed by anything. 

However, combining Trump's unpopularity with the majority of Americans, the negative results coming from an impeachment inquiry, and a lousy economy should be more than enough for him to lose the election in a landslide.

'Stable Genius' Expands Trade War: India is Latest Target

The bully boy squatting in the White House has done it again...

by shocking Mexico, and his own minions, with last week's five percent tax on everything from Mexico threat. But that wasn't enough for the orange ape.

On June 5th, India is being terminated from it's designation as a beneficiary developing country. The move is going to cost the country billions of dollars. We can expect retaliation against U.S. goods.

That's just what we need right now, another country forced into a trade war with us, leaving American taxpayers footing the bill.

For those who are paying attention, two things are obvious:

1) Trump is a pyromaniac (along with his other mental conditions), and enjoys setting fires around the globe under the guise of the great deal-maker.

Fun Question: Name one big foreign accomplishment -actual signed deal - that Trump made with any country in the world.

Fun Answer: That's right...zero, nada, none.

2) Trump is never happier than when he's causing chaos and getting a lot of attention. 

For example; Trump's in England where the government is doing a high wire act balancing between maintaining good ties with America, and dealing with the majority of the population who loath him.

Fun Fact: The Trump Baby Blimp will greet Donny Tuesday.

It's perfectly clear that the self-appointed "stable genius" doesn't know the first thing about foreign policy and could care less. 

Instead he goes by his amble gut, stumbling into a bigger quagmire with every stupid undiplomatic move.

Turning Point: The Supreme Court's Creedence in Question

Americans have traditionally accepted the Supreme Court as the guardian of our laws, but that acceptance is rapidly dwindling as the court becomes more politicized and partisan decisions are made.

It's no secret. We have a conservative court that's in bed with The Federalist Society, and GOP lawmakers who see the judges as another extension of their politic power in the senate.

Trump's two appointees, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh, are perfect examples of infecting the Supreme Court with ideology. Neither would have been confirmed if not for Trump and his GOP minions in the senate.

And both of the new appointees know it. It's safe to say this conspiracy is a blow to democracy.

The court's upcoming decision as to whether the Department of Commerce can add a question about citizenship to our national census, is a major moment with possible historical ramifications.

The true motivation behind the Commerce Department is that Hispanics will be afraid to vote, and it will adversely affect the Democratic Party who count on minority voters. 

Get this, there's new evidence that Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross' decision to add a citizenship question to the census has everything to do with helping Republicans and harming Democrats.

The thing that gets me is the fact that this evidence (and any other that's been collected) will likely not even matter to the Supreme Court.

The Trump administration and it's challengers agree on one thing; adding the citizenship question will reduce the census response rate, especially in immigrant communities.

But when the case was argued in April, the court's conservative majority seem prepared to rule that Ross had acted within his authority to add it, because no method is guaranteed to produce an accurate count.

The fact is the conservative wing of the court has not been particularly concerned about the Voting Rights Act in the past.

For example, six years ago it struck down a key portion of the act designed to protect voters from discriminatory laws. Since then two new conservative members have been appointed by Trump.

Despite what every court in the land has asserted about the question not being lawful, here we are with a conservative majority that could care less about The Voters Right Act.  

The three lower courts ruled against adding the question to the census, but it apparently doesn't matter. It appears the Supreme Court is ready to undermine it's legitimacy by ignoring reality and context and overturning those decisions.

Sadly, we've been reduced to partisan politicians in robes who have no shame, or sense of history.
