CDC Reports Progress Against Infectious Trump Virus

Good Day World!

After suffering through a two-year long stint with the Trump Virus infecting Congress, the Judicial system, and the majority of Americans, there's hope.

Democrats have taken back the House.

The CDC announced immediate progress against the toxic Trump Virus on January 3, 2019. Reports have flooded the agency since the encouraging news was released.

Psychiatrists are reporting clients who were in deep depressions are now showing positive signs of recovery in the new year.

Psychologists who helped people hang onto their sanity the last two years, are reporting progress in therapy groups. They attribute the good news to the fact that Trump is finally going to get called out for his corruption and conspiracy with Russia to steal the 2016 election.

Doctors are writing op eds about patients who are suddenly going back outdoors and getting exercise.

The country has a sense of hope now that is breathing new life into voters. The mid terms started the journey back to normalcy in our government.

All right. So, the CDC didn't write the above report. I did. It doesn't mean they won't write one like this someday however!

How A 'So-Called Deal-Maker Crippled America in 24 Months

Good Day World!

The partisan puppets in DC said it would take a great businessman like Donald Trump to straighten out the government.

Trump's supporters believed he'd restore the failing coal industry and bring car manufacturers swarming back from their overseas factories. Jobs would pop up across the country like poppies in Flanders Field.

Trump was going to "Drain the Swamp" in Washington DC.

Trump even promised to restore Christmas.

Two years later and this is America's reality:

* The US national debt stood at $21.974 trillion at the end of 2018, more than $2 trillion higher than when President Donald Trump took office, according to numbers released Thursday by the Treasury Department.

As a candidate, Trump promised to "get rid of" the national debt, telling the Washington Post in 2016 that he could make the US debt-free."

As for Trump's business acumen let's start with the stupid tariffs he leveled despite advise from experts. The bad things that the stock market worried about are happening.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 600 points, or 2.6 percent, Thursday morning, while losses in the Nasdaq 100 spiraled toward 3 percent.

Businesses don’t want to spend because we potentially are going into a recession, according to money market gurus.

And the reason for all of the above? Those tariffs coupled with withering consumer confidence due to the chaos in the White House. American's worst fears about Trump are proving to be true.

He's isolated the US from the international community. He's been cozying up to murderous dictators and princes while rejecting our traditional allies. He's attacked every branch of the government and has repeatedly violated the Constitution with draconian executive actions.

Finally, Trump contributed to the holiday by shutting the government down before Christmas, putting 800,000 federal workers out of a job. That's his way of Making Christmas Great Again.

The good news?

Americans have awakened to the threat of Trump and his serial corruption. The new majority of Democrats in the House are going to hold Trump to account.

The clock is ticking...

Turkey In Charge Thinks Playing Political "Chicken" Will Work

Good Day World!

When Mitt Romney comes off sounding like the voice of reason you know there's little hope for the Republican Party.

It's just a matter of time before they drop the Republican sobriquet and adopt a new one, Trumplican Party.

Some have already done that.

Trump has little to fear from Romney's criticism. He's not going to suddenly infuse steel into lawmakers spines and get them to stand up to Trump...and Trump knows that.

We already knew Trump was a turkey (known for having a little brain) who gets his instructions from the Matt Drudge Report, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Fox News.

So it was no surprise when that alt-right alliance persuaded him to shit can a bipartisan agreement - blindsiding both parties and partially shutting down the government.

As Democrats take over the house today their priority is to reopen those government agencies that fell victim to Trump's political chicken approach to governing.

One way, or the other, this country is going to get back on spite of Trump's attempts to divide us and defy America's values and morals.

A New Year But The Same Dummy For President - Hint: Shutdowns Suck!

                                       Good Day World!

Normally, when the first week of a new year arrives my biggest concern is getting the date right when I write a check.

What makes this year different is the concern I have about our government being paralyzed by a president who won't back down from a vanity wall that he promised his base.

Tomorrow, a newly elected Democratic House is going to take charge. Their first act will be to restore our government to functionality and stop making federal workers stay on the job with no pay.

Note: There's a lawsuit to that effect going through the courts.

One of the many ironies of Trump's insistence on a border wall is the funding for our Border Patrol and Homeland Security has been suspended thanks to his temper tantrum.

It's like a person shooting themselves in the foot and expecting something good to come from it. If Trump really cared about border security he wouldn't treat the men and women working our borders like pawns in a political game.

Today, Washington DC's biggest tourist attraction, the Smithsonian Museum, had to close.

From the Grand Canyon to Gettysburg, Acadia to the Everglades, the impact of this partial government shutdown is bring felt in every national park across America.

The IRS Effect

A shutdown plan posted on the Treasury Department’s website shows that nearly 44 percent of the IRS’ 80,565 employees will be exempt from being furloughed during a shutdown.

That would mean nearly 45,500 IRS employees will be sent home just as the agency is preparing for the start of the tax filing season and ingesting the sweeping changes made by the new GOP tax law.

Health Care Affected by shutdown

Deep into a tough flu season, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention will be unable to support the government’s annual seasonal flu program. And CDC’s ability to respond to disease outbreaks will be significantly reduced.

I could go on, there's many other adverse effects coming about thanks to this ridiculous partial shutdown, but I think you get the idea.

None of this should be happening.

#HappyNewYear - Welcome 2019!

                                       Good Day World!

Looks like we all made it for another year.

It's a chance for a clean slate, and to erase the bad memories from 2018.

I want to thank my regular followers, random readers, and new readers for perusing my posts last year. You make it all worthwhile.

As a retired newspaper guy, I still have the urge to write daily on news and views. I've even expanded my horizons by writing fiction daily on my other blog - The Creative Chronicles of Dave Stancliff.

I'm looking forward to seeing our corrupt president pay his dues (with 17 investigations pending). You can be sure I'll be there to document the orange anus's fall from power.

Happy New Year!

The Last Day: 2018 Doesn't Exit Quietly into the Night

Good Day World!

We did it!

Democracy has survived for another year in the Age of Trump.

No mean feat. Trump's challenges to our Constitution have been numerous.

In spite of stripping away the EPA's safety mission by taking away regulations to favor corporations that still have an interest in coal and oil, nothing is irreversible. There's still time to fight for the environment we live in.

Another year of challenges lies ahead.

Trump has disabled part of the government, and froze the wages of 800,000 federal workers, to end the year on a new low point in his administration.

I'm not surprised. Trump has been slowly melting down these last two months as reality is catching up to his corruption with 17 criminal cases involving him and his family hovering overhead.

To all Americans,"Do not go gentle into that good night..." as Dylan Thomas once wrote, but keep up the good fight for democracy!

Despite Government Shutdown the Show Goes On At Trump's Resort

                                            Good Day World!

Trump's end of the year temper tantrum has culminated in a partial government shutdown, but that doesn't mean Trumpies aren't going to have a New Year's Eve party at Mar-A-Lago.

As of today, The Donald has said he's not going to attend the for-profit event and plans on sulking in the Oval office tweeting grievances.

But damage has already been done.

Taxpayers had to pay $54,000 for tents to be used at the partisan bash that will help fill the Trump coffers. It's already a done deal, whether Donny comes or not.

By partially shutting the government down, you have a situation where Trump's imperial guard aren't even being paid. Money for them ran out on Dec.21st.

The optics of him pigging out at the lush fete while federal workers go without pay looms if Trump changes his mind at the last minute and attends the event.

We'll see how much that optic really bothers Trump in a couple of nights. It's hard to imagine the showman won't be there conducting court.

Regardless, the party will be a success and Trump will make a lot of money from fair-weather conservatives and members of his base who can scrap the money up.

Meanwhile 800,000 federal workers will be wondering when they're going to get their next check?

Happy New Year! From our Liar In Chief!

Blog Break Until Presidential Election is Over

I finally hit the wall today. I can't think of what to say about all of the madness going on in this country right now. I'm a writer...
