It's Final - Famous 'Bigfoot' Film Clip Exposed as Fraud by AI

It was a sad day for conspiracy theorists who believed that the famous 1967 Bigfoot (or sasquatch) sighting on grainy film was true.

The controversial clip known as the Patterson-Gimlin film has been analyzed numerous times over the years with mixed results. Some thought it was true, and others thought it was a prank.

Then Bigfoot conspiracists biggest fear came true. 

The hoax was definitively exposed by social media user Rowan Cheung. He's the kind of guy who stays up on the latest developments in the world of artificial intelligence.

Cheung posted footage of the clip stabilized and de-grained and the results are clearer than ever before. Bigfoot was just some guy in a gorilla costume.

This isn't the only Bigfoot story to surface this year. People have claimed to have discovered a sighting of Bigfoot via Google Maps.

Full disclosure I use to live in Humboldt County where Bigfoot was heavily marketed for tourists. 

When I came up to Humboldt in the late 1970s the story wasn't that old, and I got to talk with locals who lived in the Six-River Forest area where the fake film made its debut.

Most of the people I met knew it was a made-up story by liked the publicity it brought to their area. It increased tourism/jobs in the area for years. Heck, it still does.

As it stands, I would have liked to meet those two adventuresome pranksters.

For the Record: Patriotism is the Exact Opposition of Nationalism

With Trump perverting the meaning of nationalism and patriotism it's time to define both of the words that have been so abused by the extreme right.

According to Charles de Gaulle, who led Free France against Nazi Germany during World War II and later became president of France,

"Patriotism is when love of your own people comes first; nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first."

George Orwell, the author of "Animal Farm" and "Nineteen Eight-Four," described patriotism as "devotion to a particular place and a particular way of life."

He contrasted that with nationalism, which he described as "the habit of identifying oneself with a single nation or other unit, placing it beyond good and evil and recognizing no other duty than that of advancing its interests."

Sound familiar? Think MAGA.

To understand what nationalism is, it's useful to understand what a nation is - and isn't.

* A nation is a group of people who share a history, culture, language, religion or some combination thereof.

* A country, which is sometimes called a state in political science terminology, is an area of land that has its own government.

* A nation-state is a homogeneous political entity most comprising a single nation. One example of a nation-state would be North Korea, where almost all residents are ethnic Koreans.

The United States is neither a nation nor a nation-state. Rather, it is a country of many groups of people who have a variety of shared histories, cultures, languages and religions.

Some of those groups are formally recognized by the federal government, such as the Navajo Nation and the Cherokee Nation.

Two examples of white nationalist groups are the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys - ten of whom were convicted of seditious conspiracy for their role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Another example of a nationalistic group is The Nation of Islam. Black nationalists are as radical as the white nationalists. The Nation of Islam has been characterized as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Trump has loudly proclaimed to be a nationalist and that under his regime the U.S. had embraced the doctrine of patriotism.

After reading the above information what do you think about Trump's claims? His misuse of words is part of an overall strategy to redefine their meanings for his cult.

Back in 1966 there was a silly song that was playing on the radio. 

It had a catchy tune that came to mind today in this era of craziness.

A dude named Jerry Samuels (aka Napoleon XIV) - maybe an ancient "rap" precursor - made #3 on the Billboard chart with a song about the fate of a man who lost his dog.

As I mentioned earlier, we live in such crazy times that this could be an anthem for all the loose lunatics running around the country today.

I especially can see re-writing this tune to become an ode to Trump madness. A few changes here and there and by golly who knows? Maybe a number one hit on today's Billboard charts.

As it stands, it sure would be fun to hear a revised version done by one of today's popular rappers.

What Are the Latest Dumb Things Said or Done Recently?

I really have to start the dumb things said or done list with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott because he's a gullible fool.

Abbott was duped by a satire website that he shared on his Twitter feed. What he did was link a story from a satire website called The Dunning-Kruger Times.

Okay. If the name alone isn't enough of a giveaway, the site states outright that it's part of a network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery, adding if you believe that is real, you should have your head examined."

The story Abbott shared said Garth Brooks was booed off the stage at the 123rd Annual Texas Country Jamboree in Hambriston, Texas.

So, Abbott gleefully tweeted "Go woke. Go broke. Good job Texas." 

One big problem.

The jamboree wasn't a real event, and Hambriston isn't a real place.

That didn't deter Abbott who apparently didn't pick up the multitude of clues provided by the website. For the record when he was informed of his stupidity, he deleted the tweet and pretended it never happened.

Moving on...

- Marjory Taylor Greene informed her supporters she is being spied on by her TV! Need I say more?

- GOP Sen. Markwayne Mullin challenged a union boss to a MMA fight for charity. Apparently, Mullins can't wait to get his hands on Sean O'Brian who stood up to him recently.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt Mullins was elected for his cage fighting skills. His constituents more than likely expected representation on matters that affected them.

As it stands, the list of dumb things said or done by Americans increases daily and is a subject I will turn to again down the road.

MAGA Has Standards: When it Comes to Performance Art Members Get Serious

It's easy to become a MAGA minion but staying in good standing is another matter.

Believe it or not, there are standards that have to be maintained.

Raw Story recently ran a story by columnist Charles P. Pierce about Elise Stefanik being a "nuisance" because of her "clumsy performance art" bid to exonerate Trump of his impeachments.

That's just a recent example of how the GOP Congressional majority spends their time. They can't tolerate poor performances by their peers who prove to be ineffective actors. 

The theatre group sometimes referred to as The Freedom Caucus is divided on kicking Marjorie Taylor Greene out of their clubhouse and challenging Kevin McCarthy's role as Speaker of the House.

They're also pissed off at Gym Jordan's committee that looked like fools as Democrats shredded John Durham who was supposed to deliver a major knockout blow to the libs. 

To anyone watching the hearing it was obvious Durham wished he was somewhere in the Swiss Alps drinking chocolate in a secret getaway.

Dramatic performances are a must in the MAGA lawmaker's Guide to Sedition (with lots of illustrations for those who can't read). Fiery rants are a rudimentary skill for political puppets who wear red hats and believe Trump was sent by God. (To punish us maybe - but certainly not as a gift.)

Republican lawmakers aren't required to know squat about politics and legislating. GOP Rep. George Santos is one of many examples of that. If you're in trouble with the law that adds extra points for the MAGA minded. Just look at their supreme leader.

I think it's unfair to suggest that Trump supporters don't have standards. They have their marching orders (which are kinda like standards) and do their best to be like their pagan demigod Don of the Many Lies.

House Freedom Caucus is Looking at Cannibalizing Itself

In nature there are a lot of different animal species that routinely cannibalize their own group. 

From chimps to sharks to hamsters, these cannibal animals kill and eat their own for a variety of disturbing reasons.

Cannibalism is one of the most enduring and universal taboos in all of Western culture.

Speaking of... in our Western culture we have a Congress that is stocked with disturbing individuals and even a whole group of GOP cannibals.

According to recent reports at least two hardliners have discussed - and proposed to Freedom Caucus (also known as the Crazy Caucus) Chair Scott Perry - trying to boot members who no longer meet the group's standards.

In layman's terms they think some of their own members aren't crazy enough. What better reason than that to devour their own in an act of ritual cannibalization?

To my delight they are signaling that one target of any ejection push is Marjorie Taylor Greene. Think about that. She's not crazy enough?

Actually, she is, but has picked the wrong people to stand alongside in the turbulent MAGA universe. Like Kevin McCarthy who they think is too aligned with GOP leaders and too critical of the group.

The fact that the group caused a lot of acrimony with its handshake deals McCarthy cut with them to get elected Speaker of the House still lingers. 

The sharks are circling around one another in the Crazy Caucus in a prelude to cannibalistic mayhem in a pathetic surge to find their own identity.

As it stands, the more these crazies dine upon one another the better the outcome will be for democracy.

Why is Robert F. Kennedy Running for President as a Democrat When Republicans Would Love Him?

I just don't get it.

What possessed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to run for president as a Democrat? 

He knows the entire Kennedy clan won't support his efforts to upset Joe Biden in 2024.

What's really puzzling is that he would be a viable candidate for the Republican Party that's starting to realize that if Trump wins the election, it would be a "bad look" having a president trying to run the government from a jail cell. 

Setting that aside for a moment there's plenty of other reasons why Republicans would support Kennedy's bid to pollute the White House.

- Right off the bat... it would be a great way to own the libs having the spawn of a famous Democratic family cross over to the dark side.

- He would bring voters, die-hard vaccine deniers (who wouldn't vote for anyone but him), into the GOP circus tent that looks more like a triage center for the mentally ill.

- He has the stuff GOP extremists respect in regard to bad attitudes towards women's rights. Trump set the standard, but Kennedy (it turns out) is worse!

The recently unearthed journal of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (by a family member)exposed years of extra-marital sexual exploits and interactions with 37 women, 16 of whom he slept with.

His wife, Mary Richardson, discovered it and committed suicide last year. Even Trump's sexual exploits appear pale alongside Kennedy's. He had a scorecard of all of his sexual conquests and noted the name of women alongside a 1-10 scale, with 10 indicating intercourse.

Now that we know Kennedy's "lust demons" (his words in the journal) are probably still running rampant with future performances in the West Wing on his wish list agenda he would be a perfect Republican candidate for the President of the United States.

As it stands, I don't think it's too late for Republicans to woo him into their fold as he doesn't have a conscience (see his journal) and capsulizes everything they stand for.

When Does the Stench Get Bad Enough?

Something is rotten in the Supreme Court and the Halls of Congress. 

The stench of corruption and fascism permeates these institutions.

Republican lawmakers spread lies and conspiracies that stinks up the halls of justice and our government. The odor of treason is so strong that our republic has been shaken to its foundations.

House GOP MAGA Minions Had to Buy Diapers and Tissue Paper After Hunter Biden Investigation Was a Nothingburger

The crap flew in the halls of Congress as House GOP lawmaker's bowels burst when the 5-Year Hunter Biden investigation didn't end up in jail time.

A chapter of constant harassment of President Joe Biden's son by MAGA morons was closed but it's not the end of the attacks against Hunter.

After a rush order of adult diapers and tissue paper were delivered to GOP members they gathered, briefly mourned, then set out to continue their senseless attacks using invisible witnesses, whistleblowers, and outright lies. 

The same actors, "Gym" Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, James Comer, Elise Stefanik, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and the rest of the crazy caucus are not losing a beat in their abuse of powers by holding kangaroo courts designed to spread lies about President Biden and Democrats in general.

It's the mother of all aboutism.

But that's all they have to deflect from Trump's growing criminal indictments and trials that lie ahead. It's pathetic. It's undemocratic. Yet, they have elected (so far) to go further down the rabbit hole in defense of their supreme leader.

It's the epitome of polarization and weaponization of government with enough irony to go around for a millennium. Jordan's so called Weaponization of Government committee is a slap in the face of reality. It's projection to the nth degree.

We must not forget the corrupt senators who are buying into the madness with unbridled joy. GOP Sen. J.D. Vance is spitefully holding up nominations for DOJ nominees indefinitely until he gets his way.

Year-round consumer of adult diapers, 89-year-old Chuck Grassley keeps talking about damning Biden audio tapes (it's up to 17 now) that he can't produce despite his accusations of President Biden taking a $5 million dollar bribe from a foreign national.

I have to admit that Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona came up with the stupidest reply yet to the DOJ's decision not to jail Hunter.

Quote: "The announcement of the charges against Hunter Biden were to distract from Special Counsel John Durham's testimony for the House Intelligence Committee today."

Say what? Biggs like the other inflamed Trump minions has an excuse for anything that doesn't play out like anticipated. Telling more lies is their only choice because most have got their heads so far up into Trumps arsehole they stuck for life!

As it stands, we can expect Trump's lawmaker enablers to continue being his defense team until hell freezes over, or Trump's behind bars for life.

Meme This! Cultural Wars Use Humor and Hate

Memes have been around for centuries according to some linguists and are not the spawn of the internet.

Now that we've established how old Memes are let's move on to Richard Dawkins who's credited with introducing the term in his 1976 book, "The Selfish Gene." 

The head of Content at Memes.com explained that Dawkins merely "coined the term for something that's existed literally forever," in a recent interview with the New York Times. "A Meme is just an idea that rips through public consciousness," he said.

The word Meme first appeared in the New York Times Crossword section in 1953 with the clue "Same: French."

Fun fact: In French, the word meme translates to "same" and the Greek word "mimoumai" means to imitate.

Early on Memes tended to be humorous but in the last seven or eight years they've morphed into vehicles of hatred online.

The one thing we know about Memes is they continue to evolve, and the future of Memes is unpredictable.

As it stands, I would also note that Memes are meant to be simple so more people can understand them, for better or worse.

Christain Nationalists Try to Nullify Democracy: 'We Want Believers to Be Writing Laws!'

Forget about the separation of church and state as outlined in our Constitution.

A far-outlier in Christain circles has an extreme theology - that Jesus would never have approved of - that outright refutes the tenets of democracy, replacing them with paranoia, fear, and hate.

The MAGA preacher leading the nationalistic Christain movement is Sean Feucht, a fire-breathing liar who wants to send you and I to hell if we don't bend a knee to his crazy theology.

Another extremist church leader, Jackson Lahmeyer, the founder of Pastors for Trump, the leading group of evangelicals supporting Trump's re-election bid, is working in tandem with Feucht to challenge our republic's existence.

The fact that Feucht has teamed up with Charlie Kirk (certified loon) whose group Turning Points is as anti-American as you can get, shows the pivot from hate propaganda to quasi-religion. A marriage made in hell.

Quasi-religions that go against established societies and beliefs have always been a problem in any civilization. Americans are no exception.

The fact that there are millions of Americans so lost and confused that they embrace extremism in the world we live in today is scary. It's not like we don't already have enough to contend with dealing with extremist politicians and activists.

What do the two groups have in common besides hating and attacking non-believers? Their real leader is Trump - not God. That should tell you everything you need to know.

How Can Democracy Thrive When We Have a Minority Blocking the Majority?

The power of one is a shocking reality in the 118th Congress. 

One individual can dismantle the majorities decision.

Call me silly, but that doesn't sound how democracy should work. We're finding out how one senator or House member controls what's happening when it comes to legislation. 

Despite only having the reins of power in one House the MAGA traitors are trashing the system with abuse and lies. Their colleagues in the Senate support them by obstructing legislation and using their positions to defend the worst president the United States has ever experienced.

Here's a couple of recent examples on what I'm talking about:

1) Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville is blocking nominations (all by his lonesome) for roughly 250 senior officer promotions to clear the Senate.

How big a deal is this?

His hold threatens to ensnare President Joe Biden's pick for Joint Chiefs Chair, Air Force Gen. C.Q. Brown, along with others preparing to rotate in as many senior military leaders prepare to retire.

It goes to show what one lone asshole can do to cause chaos in our government. This next MAGA moron is really pushing the traitor button.

Sen. J.D. Vance is seeking revenge for Trump's most recent felony indictment for (among other things) stealing top secret nuclear codes by blocking all nominations for the Department of Justice.

It was his cute idea to show allegiance to the corrupt former president by harassing Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, and President Biden. It was a clear signal that he still has his head up Trump's ass.

These blockades are only temporary tantrums that aren't going to aide Trump from being thrown behind bars in the future. 

It's apparent even to a layman like me that Congress is going to have to update the loopholes that Republicans are seizing on in both Houses. 

When the Democrats win the 2024 election, re-electing Biden and taking control of both Houses, they need to prioritize house rules flaws that give absolute power to one jerk with a bad attitude.

As it stands, because the MAGA-infused Republican Party ignores rules and breaks them with impunity it's imperative that we guard our democracy.

Whistleblowers traditionally serve as a valuable witness into corrupt activities and are encouraged to report what they saw, or experienced.

Thanks to the House Crazy Caucus whistleblowers don't show up for committee meetings (for a myriad of bullshit reasons), or if they do, they're MAGA paid shills.

Here's a good example of the Crazy Caucus's handiwork:

In May the House Republicans hosted a hearing on the FBI's alleged retaliation against whistleblowers.

They launched their charade despite the FBI's letter to the panel explaining two of the so-called witnesses had their security clearances revoked. They got in trouble and were hoping to somehow discredit the FBI and miraculously get exonerated.

At the start of the hearing Democrats brought that up and said they weren't whistleblowers that in fact they were two ex-employees that threatened national security trying to get revenge for being fired or suspended.

It didn't matter. As far as the MAGA members were concerned Marcus Allen and Steve Friend were reporting on a deep state plot to hurt Trump and his supporters.

It's noteworthy that the Inspector General is investigating their shady claims. One of the reasons is that Kash Patel, a former Trump official paid them both to show up and lie, according to a report released earlier this year.

To put the cherry on the cake Jim Jordan, upon hearing they were paid, glibly said, "Of course they are going to do what they can to feed their families." I suspect he already knew all about it because he was involved staging the little drama.

In an ongoing attempt to discredit President Biden the House Chair James Comer of the Oversight Committee has been bragging about the dirt he and his cronies have dug up, claiming Biden got a $5 million bribe from a foreign power.

The problem is their highly touted whistleblower never showed up. After a week of salacious stories and numerous appearances on right-wing media Comer came out and said he was MIA. Later on, rumors in MAGA media said he was dead.

As it stands, when is a whistleblower not a whistleblower? When their paid or do it to further GOP lies.

Another Guiness Book First: Trump's Charged with 68 Felony Counts with More to Come

Trump has just set another Guiness Book world record after adding 37 more felony counts (including the Espionage Act violation) in Federal Court in Miami to his running total.

After being charged with 31 felony counts in Manhattan Trump broke into the Guiness Book of Records after being the first US president to be indicted and charged with felonies.

While this latest group of felonies continues to shatter political norms, the tabulation isn't over yet. How many charges will he add after being indicted in Georgia for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election?

Let's not forget the other federal investigation into Trump's coup attempt on Jan.6th. That'll certainly add more charges.

Will Trump top 100 felonies? It wouldn't hurt to check the betting parlors and see what the odds are of that happening. It's possible.

In a post -Trump America anything can happen. He may hit the century mark for corruption and still not go to jail. 

You heard that right. Our government is under siege from MAGA lawmakers in Congress and cowardly Republicans ready to burn the Constitution while silently letting Trump trample on our judicial system.

Without a doubt Trump's legacy of deconstructing the administrative state and stacking of federal judiciary with conservative and often unqualified ideologues will be registered in the Political Hall of Infamy and Shame forever.

It's a mystery why the Republican Party is still hitched to the Trump train even as it careens off the rails. I think it's more than trying to keep his base under the GOP tent, however. I think that those spineless Republicans in Congress are AFRAID of what Trump will do to them personally.

Trump is a vindictive bully. That's why I found it interesting that during the document case arraignment Trump did his absolute best not to meet eyes with Jack Smith's steady stare throughout the proceedings.

He slumped his shoulders and held his head down, or turned the other way, rather than look at the eyes of a man he's personally threatened (and his wife). The "bully" slunk out of the courthouse after the proceedings.

More felony charges are inevitable. We'll have to see what the final total is as he continues to collect them like trophies.

As it stands, people are talking about this "historic moment" of indicting a former president for multiple crimes and some are going to the betting parlors to see if they can cash in on Trump.

has ever conducted the drama has grown over Trump's arraignment in Miami for stealing nuclear secrets and more.

Online media and television have been busy buzzing about sensational headlines ranging from pure hyperbole to actual facts.

-The biggest trial in American history.

-No former president has ever been charged with federal felonies (37 to be precise).

-House GOP are DeFacto lawyers for Trump and are abusing their powers to defend him.

-Trump backers are going bonkers with dangerous threats

-Authorities in Miami are prepared for anywhere from 5,000 to 50,000 supporters.

-Trump's not a spy. Why is he being charged under the Espionage Act?

And so, it goes.

Trump was in the courthouse for about 25 minutes and that was it. No cameras. No audio. No transparency. Nothing. Just hundreds of reporters trying to make soup from water.

The tense leadup before the arraignment was showed by cameras covering the freeway and side streets on Donny's bigly ride to the courthouse.

For the record there wasn't 50,000 supporters there to see their cult leader. Nor was there 5,000 clamoring for a glimpse of their supreme leader. 

From what I saw there wasn't 500 supporters milling around in the yellow tape cordoned off section. I'm not entirely sure if there were 400 MAGA morons out there under the hot Miami sun. There were easily more reporters than Trump supporters.

The most interesting thing to watch was a guy (Duane Schwingel) dressed up as Uncle Sam on a hoverboard singing an ode to Trump and his minions, although I was pretty impressed by the guy carrying a pig's head on a spike soaked in blood and other liquids dripping from the dead animal's head.

As it stands, it didn't feel like a seismic shock to many Americans that follow the former president of the United States, despite being charged with stealing classified documents. That's because it doesn't matter to his cult if he's a convicted sex abuser and twice impeached president who stole nuclear documents.

A Political Poker Game Observed: When to Hold, When to Fold

Welcome to today's edition of Political Poker. 

I'll go over a few rules that players are required to heed (although they seldom do).

Time for Texas Hold'em!

Because Texas Hold'em is by far the most popular poker game out there it's important to know the rules.

There are ten players. Five Democrats, and five Republicans. Note: they're all MAGA Republicans.

The goal is to use your hole cards in combination with your community cards to make the best possible five-card poker hand.

It's that simple in real life. However Political Poker, a twisted mirror image of that reality is much more toxic...and outright entertaining!

Let's take a peek at how the contestants are doing.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is bluffing by not taking any cards and sticking with her community cards. Every Democrat at the table can read her lying eyes. Laughing, Jamie Raskin called her bluff. Braying like a jackass she screams in rage and threatens to impeach all the Democrats.

We see Jayapal Pramila smiling after drawing three cards. Ted Cruz, Paul Gosar, Jim Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, and MTG exchange looks and appear to be baffled and angry. 

When Jordan finally calls Pramila's hand he lays down three Jacks and grins like a rabid coyote. She smiles again and lays out a flush. Jordan immediately calls for a full investigation.

As we observe Hakeem Jeffries passing out cards for a new hand, Gaetz and Gosar are sending messages back and forth on their cell phones.

The Aliens Are Here! A Green Creature Stalks Las Vegas!

As if the world isn't crazy enough, we have a new completely bonkers story about 10-foot-tall greenish aliens hiding behind a forklift in a Las Vegas family's backyard.

Here's the story:

Apparently, there was a glowing, green light that streaked across the sky that night and disappeared in the distance. The American Meteor Society reported that at least 21 people across California, Arizona, Neveda and Utah saw a glowing green light in the sky.

Okay. That's not really so strange. Meteors are always falling out of the sky and crashing on earth. It's a routine thing.

But the story attached to the mysterious green light is pushing the limits of believability for most Americans and scientists.

An anonymous witnesses told his story in a YouTube video under the name Alien Society51.

Warning lights should be going off about this witness who shared bodycam footage claiming a picture of a "perfect" circle in his backyard purportedly left behind the aircraft. What's really amusing is authorities never found that perfect circle burned into his backyard.

That didn't stop the witness from calling 911 and saying, "There's like an 8-foot person beside it and another one inside (presumably the spacecraft), and it has big eyes and it's looking at us, and it's still there."

The frantic caller told the dispatcher the creatures were "like 8 foot, 9 feet, 10 feet. I dunno what they are but 100% they're not human."

It was time for Fox News to get involved with something so sensational, so they called in George Knapp a renowned journalist (and conspiracy theorist). He supposedly talked with the people involved and declared "I didn't detect a hint of a hoax."

What better way to break the news than go to the station that specializes in hoax's...Faux News?

As far as the authorities go, they were unable to find any clues to support the green big men story. The local police department released a statement stating they don't know what exactly crashed in Las Vegas that night, but there's evidence something happened. 

Okay. Where? And what?

You can bet this story will get the UFO nuts to jump into their clown cars and start touring the country with "witnesses" to the alien invasion. Rumors are that House GOP members might "investigate" the whole sham with James Comer chairing the subcommittee.

As it stands, nothing is too far out for the House crazy caucus members whose main mission is sowing chaos in our government.

It Could Be a Problem: Florida is a Red State with Red Jurors Who Can't See Past Red

Despite recent setbacks, Trump is smiling about where his trial will be held in the classified documents case where he's been charged with espionage and obstruction of justice.

Recently a Central Florida criminal defense attorney, Rob Mandell admitted that the state has a long history of acquitting elected officials accused of wrongdoing by the feds.

They just don't like feds in the Republic of Florida, especially since elected officials like Gov. Ron DeSantis is at war with the entire federal government.

It's a perfect venue for the most corrupt former president in US history to be tried. Politics trump (pun intended) the constitution and rule of law in the Sunshine State. 

Trump is counting on that because he has no real defense against the charges filed against him. There's just too much evidence. 

In a fair hearing it would be a slam dunk, but the chance of a MAGA mole (or two) getting on the jury - despite lawyer's assertions everyone is carefully vetted - is higher in Florida than any other state.

And look who the judge is. 

MAGA judge Aileen Connor who was chastened by her peers for slowing down the FBI's investigation and making weird rulings in Trump favor. It's not entirely clear she will be responsible for the case throughout its duration. If she is, then Trump already has someone in his pocket.

It's apparent the feds are going to have their work cut out for them. 

Mandell summed up the situation when he told the press, "Good luck finding a Trump supporter finding Trump guilty, despite whatever the evidence is."

As it stands, we better hope Mr. Mandell is not right about the juror selection, and this still turns out to be a fair trial.
