Last chance to see two major Egyptian exhibits before they return and never come back again

    Good Day Humboldt County!

Walk like an Egyptian…

I’ve got vacations on my mind lately. Been thinking about going to Southern California to visit relatives and when I read about how the Cleopatra exhibit is at the California Science Center in Los Angeles right now, I’m even more motivated to get down there.

I’ve always been fascinated with Egyptian History. I got to see the Tutankhamun exhibit a few years ago and was very impressed. As a history buff who particularly enjoys the great civilizations like the Egyptians, the Greeks, and the Romans, this is an opportunity that can’t be passed up. Especially as how these artifacts may never come back to this country again.

“Two major exhibits of ancient artifacts relating to the best-known figures from ancient Egypt, King Tut and Cleopatra, are in the last stages of their U.S. tours — and their departure could signal the end of an era.

"Cleopatra: The Exhibition" opened at the California Science Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday, while "Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs" began its run at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle yesterday. By the end of next year, the more than 250 artifacts from the two exhibitions will be back in Egypt, possibly for good.” (Source)

Time for me to walk on down the road….

We must have some psychic connection going on, Dave, because I've been dealing with Egyptian stuff lately in trying to organize my book for publication (online--which is free). I was in Cairo in 2011, on those same streets that erupted a year later with Arab Spring. We stayed at an old hotel (cheapest rent) in downtown Cairo for altogether about five days. Cairo streets are filled with cars driving with only one rule-keep going in the same direction. And it works. They don't have gridlock and I actually asked about accidents and found they too aren't any more prevalent. We didn't hear sirens going off all the time. Strange way to drive but it's far better than gridlock. An Egyptian boy took to being our "guide" across the streets and proudly showed us his Coptic cross tatoo when he saw we were Christians. Coptic Christians, like all Christians in Muslim dominated lands, are in jeopardy.

Egypt's ancient religion figures heavily in Judaism and Christianity. I've found the spiritual root of the Torah in Egyptian religion and the Christ Story shares much in common with Horus/Osiris Egyptian mythology. I've been unconsciously until I learned about the Egyptian connection to the Gospels, the Anubis/John the Baptist role with the Paxcalibur sanctification baptisms that seemed to have given Pax so much spiritual power in Nazareth at Easter in 2003. "Out of Egypt I called My Son" means the Judeo-Christian theology's roots cannot be known without knowing about Egypt's influence on the writers of the Torah, Tanakh, and New Testament especially.

I grew up in a family that didn't go to church or really even talk about religion.
After I got out of the Army in 1971, I set out on a journey to study the great religions.
I Even studied some of the lesser known one's like Zoroastranism (or Mazdaism)which is based upon the teaching of Zoraster.
I'm still on that journey Stephen.

We all are, I think, although most don't know it. There is a "theotropism", the turning to God that I believe is naturally instilled within all of us except those born with brain disorders. I myself was not much of a seeker of God or Truth or cosmic consciousness or whatever until age 35 when I went through my personal "Road to Damascus" three day long religious conversion experience that came "out of nowhere" certainly not sought at the time, and completely overwhelmed my prior atheistic viewpoint of religion. Never doubted since although the Mystery just keeps deepening as I learn more and more about this Spirit business that can't be dismissed once experienced and the Door opened, even by former atheistic U.C. Berkeley anthropology majors like me. God consciousness is evolved into our brains science is finding out.
