I think I'd like to go to Bora Bora - how about you?

Bora Bora - One of the most mythical of the Pacific islands remains the island of all dreams.

The legends, mysteries, and romance associated with the words “Bora Bora” bring an almost mystical presence to the island. The island, located about 230 kilometers northwest of Papeete, is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef.

The island has been made famous by books, movies, and its stunning beauty. Warning- the island is now besieged by tourism and overcrowding. Regardless, if you must visit a South Pacific island, Bora Bora would be an interesting one.

Hello Dave, I'm french and I leave in Moorea, not far from Papeete and Bora Bora.. I visited your blog, quite funny (my daughter of 14 loves the centaurs legs !) Yes, you could visit a day Bora Bora, and I hope a day you will... but, unfortunetly, the island has changed, is durty, expensivly expensive (gasp) and the most beautifull is to see her from airplane !... I think, when you come in french polynésia that the best is to forget Tahiti (just 2/3 days) and go to the Tuamotu (forget Rangiroa too) in Fakarava, Mataïva, Tikehau, so beautifull, so rich in fishes, sharks etc, if you like diving... so rich in différent blues if you like take pictures... so rich in beaches and colored sands if you like suntan... so wonderfull, really. I am fond of Tuamotu because it's the French Polynésia of years ago, wild and quiet.... I wish you and your Honey a happy new year and, may be, a trip in our beautifull blue paradise !.... (aïe, my english is so-so !) A bientôt. Mimi
