MEDIA HAS TO PAY UP TO COVER OBAMA'S BIG NIGHT!

Media organizations will have to pay up 

if they want a prime spot to cover Democrat Barrack Obama's election night party.

I have to agree with Fred Brown, a former national president of the Society of Professional Journalists, who said, "The Obama campaign's fee list is a "mercenary way" to approach coverage."

"It seems to needlessly create ill will," said Brown, a retired capitol bureau chief for the Denver Post who still writes regularly for the newspaper.

Some foreign visitors today...

I was looking at some foreign visitor's to this blog today and was surprised to see someone in Tigrisnet, Iraq stopped by for a peek at my Sarah Pallin post.

I wonder if it was someone in our military? Or could it have been a lusting Iraqi who thinks Pallin's pretty hot?

Canada rang in again today with three new visitors from: Burnaby, British Columbia, Toronto, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island. They all wanted a peek at the now famous Pukin Pumpkin photo I posted a while back.

Cheerio oh! to some bloke from London, England who stopped in to see an old post titled Recycle or Else!

I could find no common theme for what the visitors from overseas were reading. They picked a variety of posts and past columns.
Canada sent the most from any one country.

Hmmmmm....I'm going to have to digest (pun intended) that!

SEE SUNDAY'S TIME-STANDARD

MAKE SURE TO SEE AS IT STANDS TOMORROW. It's about lead poisoning in American homes. Are you safe? Was your home built before 1976? If so, you better read this column, and be prepared for a shock!

I'll take the weather in Humboldt anyday! I's been so hot and dry down here that my sinus's are dried up and I'm getting an occassional nosebleed. The sheer mass of people everywhere I've been this last five or six days is overwhelming!

Talk about road rage. Yikes! I've seen several bad accidents and drivers that post speeds of 100 mph or more on the freeway (and some surface streets in Hemet and San Jacinto. In my travels I noticed that someone has built houses right next to the Parris Lake Dam. Talk about stupid and greedy.

That seems to be the story for city planners down here. They build wherever, fault lines be damned, and they get away with it. Just another case of a crumbling infrastructure.

I can't wait to get home and dial this blog back in!

Winds and whiskey

The winds down here have been very strong and the wildfires continue to rage.
My Dad and I polished a bottle of good whiskey off the other night.

The clues I gave earlier have been referring to SAN BERNARDINO.

Gave yourself a gold star if you got it. Since then I have been hopping around most of southern California and going to too many places to list here.

It's been fun, but I'm already longing to come home. Humboldt is my paradise.

I didn't watch the debate last night because I'm burned out with both parties rhetoric. I wish this race were over.
