Winds and whiskey
My Dad and I polished a bottle of good whiskey off the other night.
The clues I gave earlier have been referring to SAN BERNARDINO.
Gave yourself a gold star if you got it. Since then I have been hopping around most of southern California and going to too many places to list here.
It's been fun, but I'm already longing to come home. Humboldt is my paradise.
I didn't watch the debate last night because I'm burned out with both parties rhetoric. I wish this race were over.

I'm back again....
The winds down here have been very strong.
The county I'm in is the largest one in California and close to being the largest county in America.
That famous Route 66 runs through this county.
I'm already thinking about coming home and I have six days left down here! I'm use to being in my bunker communicating with the world via my computer, so I'm really out of my comfort zone right now.
My biggest challenge is my PTSD. I have trouble being around lots of people, and the traffic down here stresses me to the max. I am trying to let others do the driving while I'm here. It's just one of the precautions that I'm taking.
Most people don't have any idea what people with PTSD go through daily. The challenges are many and varied depending where I'm at.
That's about all for today. Thanks for visiting today, and I'll be doing a lot of updating when I get home. Meanwhile, don't be shy...take a look around and check out the archives for this blog and the other sources I've provided.
Peace.

HERE I AM....
I'm somewhere in the state of California. (Ah heck...Southern California).
Wyatt Earp retired in this city not long after it was formed.
Two words.
That's it for now, I've got things to do. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you here later.

WHAT TOPIC ARE THE CANDIDATES AVOIDING?
IT has yet to come up in the debates.
IT is going to be one of the biggest domestic challenges facing the new president.
IT is illegal immigration.
SEE THE SUNDAY (10/12) Edition of The Times-Standard where AS IT STANDS takes a look at a subject that has been pushed under the rug during these presidential campaigns.

Guess Who abused her power in office?
Gov. Sarah Palin abused
her power - click here -
according to a Alaska legislative panel who announced the news this evening. Is anybody surprised? This is the woman who thinks the Vice President should have more power and she's not even been elected yet! Of course, die-hard fans will ignore reality and shrug their shoulders and say, "So what?"
US To take stake in banks, first time since the Depression!
Click here to see what's involved in this historic move to avoid even more financial chaos. Meanwhile world market stocks continue to plunge as the selling stampedes continue. Oh yea, people are worried.
What's really troublesome is that most Americans don't really know what's happening. Worse yet, neither do the so-called pros! Hang on folks because know one knows what's going to happen next!
Let's pause and take a Laugh break - things have been pretty serious today!
He's just trying to keep any accidents from happening

"I'll be back." (Sly's RAMBO)
Meanwhile, while I'm away, I'll try to find computers (I don't have a laptop) and make daily observations and
give hints where I'm at on a particular day. Doesn't that sound like fun? If it doesn't then you're at the wrong blog!
STOCKS CONTINUE TO PLUNGE
This broker reacts at the stock market
in Frankfort, central Germany.
European markets are tumbling for the 8th straight day amid ongoing fears about the state of the credit market. This Depression we're in at home is spreading like wildfires across the globe. It seems citizens worldwide are panicking as their savings and retirement plans disintegrate in the midst of this economic tidal wave.
I talked to a guy today who said that if he would have stuffed his money into the mattress the last 20 years he'd have about $60,000 saved up. As it is, he only has a few thousand left in his 401 K plan and is going to have to put off retirement.
Cindy McCain: Vietnam vets with PTSD were 18-years olds who didn't know what they were doing!
During a recent interview with Marie Claire, Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) wife Cindy suggested that her husband has never had PTSD symptoms because “he was trained.” She also added that symptoms such as “cold sweats in the middle of the night” are reserved for the “the 18-year-olds who were drafted”:
Just how stupid is this woman?
Q: You met your husband after his POW days. To what extent is that still with you - or is it a part of history?
McCAIN: My husband will be the first one to tell you that that’s in the past. Certainly it’s a part of who he is, but he doesn’t dwell on it. It’s not part of a daily experience that we experience or anything like that. But it has shaped him. It has made him the leader that he is.
Q: But no cold sweats in the middle of the night?
McCAIN: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. My husband, he’d be the first one to tell you that he was trained to do what he was doing. The guys who had the trouble were the 18-year-olds who were drafted. He was trained, he went to the Naval Academy, he was a trained United States naval officer, and so he knew what he was doing.
I HOPE THAT THE THOUSANDS OF YOUNG IRAQ AND AFGANISTAN VETERANS HEARD THIS CRAP!
IN SHRINK CIRCLES IT'S CALLED DENIAL!

WILL TOMORROW BRING AN OCTOBER SURPRISE FOR PALIN?
It could get scary tomorrow for
Gov. Sarah Palin...........when..
the results are released on the infamous 'Trooper Gate' investigation! There may be ghastly howls of horror emanating from the musty halls of the Republican war room when the would-be Veep gets slapped for abuse of power! Then again, they may not have enough of a case against her, and she'll be grinning and winking her way until election day.
THE ZERO DOLLAR - SOON TO BE TRUE?
Artist Laura Gilbert's print "The Zero Dollar"
protesting the breakdown of the American
economy.
She passed out 10,000 of these greenbacks in front of the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday, Oct 7, to call attention to the economic crisis gripping the nation.
The Republican Place to Put out Lies
Step right up folks! Get your official
FOX/Republican patch right now and join the legion that don't bother with issues, and who think personal attacks are good campaigning. You can even get this image tattooed on body parts like your butt, so when you sit down and take a crap you'll be in tune with the Neo-Cons!
Horny couple park car and have sex in police parking lot!
A young couple coming back from a Lehigh University function decided love couldn't wait and they pulled into the local Hellertown Police station parking lot to attend to their desires.
The problem was that they were parked in a handicapped space and someone reported a suspicious vehicle. When the police came to the car the couple were interrupted, and the male driver ended up getting charged with drunk driving. They weren't charged for having their fun though.
Still, it sure was bad luck brought on by hormones, to get a drunk driving charge while he was parked!

Michael Moore says AS IT STANDS column on PTSD IS A MUST READ!
Look what I found on Michael Moore's web site - click here. I just happened to Google John McCain and PTSD and, lo and behold, I find it's a MUST READ on Michael Moore's web site.
I guess I'm honored, but don't people ask to reprint your stuff anymore? Like out of courtesy? Maybe I'm just old-fashioned. Well, not that old at heart, or I wouldn't be messing with this blog! I'm constantly amazed at how things (like my column for example) move through the Internet like bolts of lightning and appear in unlikely places.
LIST OF TOP 100 NATIONAL BLOGS & VISITOR'S FROM OVERSEAS
Here is a list of the Top 100 Blogs in the country, as compiled by Technorati.
I thought my blogger buddies might find this list interesting.
Also interesting (at least to me it is!) is the fact that this blog has already seen three visitor's from faraway shores today before noon.
Thanks for stopping by: Hyderabad Andhra Pradesh, India; Prague Hlavni Mesto Praha, Czech Republic, and return visitor... Waterloo,Ontario,Canada.
Y'All come back now ya hear! (I think this line was from the Beverly Hillbilly's TV series.)
I'm not really a hillbilly, despite living in the wild's of Humboldt County, but I liked the tone of that "invitation." Real folksy-like don't you think? Speaking of subjects like "What do you think?" please don't be shy to share with me. This blog is comment friendly!
Also, for your convenience, you can subscribe to this blog (for free! What a deal!). I'll do my best to make it interesting and informative every day. What do you say?
I'm listening....(Frazier Crane's line as a radio shrink in the popular TV show FRAZIER)
Father kills family and shoots himself over financial distress!
Is this tragedy a sign of the times? Click here to see why a man killed himself and his family because he lost his job.
Karthik Rajaram once made more than $1.2 million in a London-based venture in his capacity as a finance manager.
This kind of thing happens when money becomes more important than family. I think anyone who takes so much stock in material things is headed for disappointment throughout their life.
