Dragon-sized lizard eluded science, until now

These reptiles are about six feet long and live in the trees. It’s seems kinda odd that an animal this big has just now been discovered.

Just a hunch, but I’ll bet there’s not a lot of monkeys around where these lizards hunt for fruit.

“A dragon-sized, fruit-eating lizard that lives in the trees on the northern Philippines island of Luzon has been confirmed as a new species, scientists reported today.”
