By pinning the end of the conflict to a specific post-election date, Trump is attempting to shift the narrative from a failing exit strategy to an inevitable victory tied to the electoral calendar.
I know. It's pathetic.
It's going to be like magic after the midterms when gas and diesel prices tumble below historical averages because Trump will make such a deal with Iran the whole world will be in awe and copies of the Art of the Deal will become an international best seller.
It was inconvenient of the Wall Street Journal to warn its readers that the Trump/Epstein war could stretch much longer contradicting the regimes promises.
It's sinister that Trump just rejected a concrete seven-day ceasefire and port-opening proposal brought forward by Iran through international mediators, signaling that hostilities may actually intensify or resume rather than conclude peacefully.
So, what's going on?
Realistically we'll never know what's going on in Trump's demented brain that is increasingly challenged by magical thinking and outright paranoia.
We know Trump is feeling cornered watching the polls heavily favor Democrats who he knows will go after him when they take the House back. His desperation and despair are feebly disguised with a ridulous strong man imitation that looks more like a clown act.
Remember when Trump told Americans the COVID was just going to miraculously go away one day? Whether he believed that or not, he didn't hesitate to try and bullshit everyone.
Nothing has changed since then.
Trump is attempting to rig this November election like he unsuccessfully tried to do in 2020 by attacking the electoral system on several levels. This time he has more power to twist the arms of justice into a knot.
Although everything points to a Democratic wave in the midterms don't think for a moment that the Republicans couldn't win it by hook or crook.
As it Stands, we need to be clear eyed about the aftermath of this election; even if the Democrats do take back the House (and possibly the Senate) Trump isn't just going to stand down and be a good boy.
