Today is a day of celebration.
It wasn't just Americans who were thrilled to see Democrats win the House and the Senate. Countries around the world celebrated.
The French lite up the Eiffel Tower with blue lights.
The Canadians colored the Niagara Falls blue in support of the Democrats takeover.
In Spain, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez celebrated the outcome of the election that saw the Democrats win an historic victory. Sanchez framed the election as a vote against poverty and hatred and a sign that the far-right wave is unraveling.
In Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store welcomed the shift as a powerful signal of change and a "victory for democracy."
In Ukraine media outlets like the Kyiv Independent reacted with optimism regarding potential boosts to future military and humanitarian aid.
South Africaian President Cyril Ramaphosa stated that the results from the election could "introduce a new era in world relations" amid strained ties with Washington.
In Denmark and the EU: European Parliament Vice President Christel Schaldemose expressed cautious optimism regarding global green transitions and support for Ukraine.
It's like a party throughout the United States as Americans celebrate their victory over Trump and his MAGA minions. Hope has returned to America. The far-right element has suffered an historic loss.
After two years of Trumpian terror this election broke MAGA's spell. The next two years will be a titanic struggle between a Democratic Congress and Trump. At least the playing field has been leveled.
As it Stands, like millions of Americans I'm relieved this election is now history and the fight for our freedoms is alive and proactive.
