Trump's Favorite Corrupt Tactic: 'Move Fast and Break Things'

Since Trump's daddy gave him a fortune to play with Trump has been breaking building laws with impunity.

From using illegal immigrants (Polish citizens) to build Trump Tower, to going ahead with construction sites before they've been approved by the city and state, he's defied building laws from the start.

You might say it's his real brand. Act now and go to court later. When Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts of cheating on real estate transactions and cooking the books, he tied the case up in the courts until he became president and made it go away.

That tactic of building first and facing consequences later recently surfaced when Trump started construction for his big, beautiful ballroom next to the White House this year.

Trump tore down the former East Wing before anyone could stop him and is busy going ahead with the construction of his gilded fantasy despite a court case against the illegal construction.

His lawyer claimed it was too late to stop the construction because it's so far along. It's a feeble argument and Judge Millet rebuked Trump's lawyer Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Yaakov Roth.

"Let me ask you a straightforward question: that this court, the Supreme Court, no court could stop the building of this ballroom?" asked Millet.

"Yes," Roth replied. "The project is well on its way, with more than 3 million pounds of steel rebar now on site" he told Millet.

"If the government decided to move very quickly to bulldoze the Statue of Liberty there's nothing that can be done?" Millet asked Roth.

"I think that's right, yes," Roth replied, in a moment that sparked audible gasps in the courtroom.

Beyond a standing issue question, Roth argued that blocking the ballroom construction would pose a national security risk that outweighs the concerns raised by the plaintiffs.

That's right. It's a national security risk if Trump's billionaire buddies can't safely play in a gilded ballroom straight out of the corrupt 1920s.

The Trump regime is asking the appellate judges to throw out a lower court judge's order halting the ballroom's construction after U.S. District Judge Richard Leon ruled in March that Trump has gone beyond his authority in building the ballroom.

The appeal was successful and the appellate panel allowed the construction to continue. Which brings us to the current court case to stop construction. The court appeared skeptical that Trump has the authority to build the ballroom in the first place.

Who knows how that will go? One of the judges is a Trump appointee so anything could happen.

As it Stands, Trump is basically a smash and grab guy - like a jewel thief - and he's got away with his corrupt tactics since daddy first put money into his tiny, bruised hands.
