It helps to know that Trump's use of the word hoax has a different meaning than what you'll find in the dictionary.
When you look up the word hoax its defined as a "humorous or a malicious deception."
Trump's interruption is as simple as he is, "Everything he doesn't like is a hoax." By extension facts and evidence that are aren't favorable to him are hoaxes. For example, Trump's description of the Epstein files as a Democratic hoax.
But, lo and behold, MAGA Mike Johnson reluctantly led the way to voting on releasing that Democratic hoax today. The House voted overwhelmingly, 427-1, to forward the bill to the senate. One lone Republican, Clay Higgins, voted "no" against releasing the Democratic hoax which is now being called the Epstein files.
In a stunning and deceptive move Trump announced, just before today's vote in the House, that it was okay for his minions to vote to release the "Epstein" files. If the senate agrees to release them too then Trump hinted, he might sign the legislation when it comes to his desk.
What? Why this total reversal after 10 months of calling it a Democratic hoax and that there was nothing to see there? That people should focus on the great economic successes he's already given them instead of always talking about Epstein.
The reason for the reversal was public pressure, and Trump saw cracks appearing in the Republican party - especially in the House where some Republicans had joined in a petition for the release of the Epstein files.
That's why, at the last moment he said "release the files" ahead of the House vote. He wanted it to appear like that's what he wanted all along.
Here's the kicker...
Trump already has a plan to protect himself from any further embarrassing reports by ordering AG Pam Bondi to investigate the Epstein files.
In one fell swope Bondi can claim that because it's an ongoing investigation nothing can be released. I mentioned this in a prior post when it became apparent that Trump was panicking.
I'm not clairvoyant but what do you want to bet the investigation will take at least three years? Problem solved right? Trump has Bondi primarily investigating prominent Democrats that can be tied to Epstein. I can see nasty little updates issuing from that sham investigation incriminating everyone but Trump.
However, Trump's backup plan may not work more than a year. Next November's midterms are looking positive for Democrats getting the House, and even, the Senate back. When that happens it's a whole new ballgame.
As it Stands, I take heart that the Epstein scandal has caused grief to Trump's regime and that it may - someday - spell the end to his corrupt presidency.
