Top congressional Republican John Boehner told the president to delay a planned jobs speech to a joint session of Congress by a day in order to avoid "impediments." Meaning the Republican presidential debate was set that day.
The House historian labeled Boehner's public rebuff as unprecedented. I guess this gives us all an idea what it’s going to be like when Congress is back in session. The partisanship will continue and Americans will once again be the losers.

The solution is simple. get rid of our representative system of government - eliminate all republicans, so that Congress, the Senate and the president can spend as much as they like, as fast as they like, and the future be damned.
Why, in your opinion, did the President NOT schedule this speech back when he announced he'd be giving his speech-y thing when he was done with his vacation? Coulda scheduled it then. Would that also have been "unprecedented"?

you got half of it right - now eliminate the Democrats and let's skip the nicities. The corporations make all of our laws right now and both sides bow to them - so let's let the corporations come of the closet and have the CEOs take their rightful seats in Congress.
