New WWF Report warns that Earth 'will expire by 2050'

Our planet is running out of room and resources. Modern man has plundered so much, a damning report claims this week, that outer space will have to be colonized

“Earth's population will be forced to colonize two planets within 50 years if natural resources continue to be exploited at the current rate, according to a report out this week.

A study by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), to be released on Tuesday, warns that the human race is plundering the planet at a pace that outstrips its capacity to support life.

In a damning condemnation of Western society's high consumption levels, it adds that the extra planets (the equivalent size of Earth) will be required by the year 2050 as existing resources are exhausted.”

Most of the linked article focuses on two points: deforestation and extinction. Big news: 1) deforestation can be ameliorated with planting more trees, and 2) most reputable sources indicate that 99% of all species that have ever existed on the planet are now extinct.

Through evolution, new species arise through the process of speciation—where new varieties of organisms arise and thrive when they are able to find and exploit an ecological niche. Species become extinct when they are no longer able to survive in changing conditions or against superior competition.

Only arrogant, atheistic liberals would think that evolution was the sole genesis (irony noted) of humankind and simultaneously believe they have a superior understanding of that evolution, and therefore the right to alter that process or spread fear that human (and most other) life on the planet will cease to exist in a generation. They sound like alarm-mongering Beckists (as in Glenn Beck) to me.

If people from the US live in outer space in 2050, it's more likely to be as a result of escaping a country that is then under Muslim rule in a situation akin to the American Revolution than because of bull-shit environmental woes.
