Mr. Allen Swift of(Springfield, MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Picadilly P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in1928.
He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102!!!
He was the oldest living owner of a car from new. Just thought you'd like to see it.
He donated it to a Springfield museum after his death.
It has 170,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed, and is in perfect condition. (82 years)
Just thought you would find this of interest....

In a day and age when it's less expensive to buy a new refrigerator than to have a repair person come out and fix whatever's broken, this is an inspiring story. Fantastic!
I saw this car, its amazing. Rolls Royce built this car in Springfield, Massachusetts and built cars there for a time. Its too bad they couldn't come back and build cars again, even in a limited capacity. I wrote Rolls last year and asked what it would cost for them to do it, they didn't anwer. Too bad, could probably get a great deal through the state.
