This article was posted all over facebook by many of my teacher friends. It's outrageous, but, sadly, unsurprising. Many high schools in this country still have segregated proms. You heard me. And when I taught at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, the fraternities and sororities there still celebrated "Plantation Days," complete with students on parade in blackface. Truly horrible. And until more of us speak out against this behavior, it will continue. So thank you for speaking out, and thank you for the post!
